Devil May Cry 4 is a hack-and-slash action RPG game in which we take on the role of Nero, who is a devil hunter.
Nero is a young man who despite having a clear lack of faith , he lives with The Order of the Sword, a sect of holy knights who are responsible for protecting humans, yet they worship the demon Sparda as their God, in a castle-town of Fortuna on a mysterious island which was isolated from the rest of the world. Their leader, is the High Priest Sanctus, who leads the organization as their benevolent and ideal spiritual leader. Nero was a baby who was abandoned at a very young age, He was take in by the order of the swords .Nero was sent to live with Credo, who was serving as the Captain of the Holy Knights.
As the story plays out, it is revealed that Nero is a descendent of Sparda, who was hailed as one of the most powerful demons of his time. Since Nero has also inherited the blood of Sparda, he possesses a demonic soul that can be unleashed at his beckoning. Under the orders of the organisation, he is ordered to hunt down a man in red. As the story progresses, he finds that the organisation of which he is a part is up to something. He begins his investigation and finds a huge conspiracy going on behind his back.
